Dietary sugars like dextrose and high fructose syrup can raise the risk of cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. Keep an eye out for hidden sugars in processed foods—often listed as ingredients ending in "ose" (e.g., sucrose, glucose). 🍬🚫
Even natural sugars, like those in maple syrup and honey, spike blood sugar just like other carbs. Eating them in excess can lead to weight gain, so remember to enjoy them in moderation!
